Jurgen Klopp sends message to Mo Salah ahead of Liverpool FC v AS Roma
Jurgen Klopp raves about Liverpool FC star Mohamed Salah after he was voted as the PFA player of the year
Jurgen Klopp has congratulated Mohamed Salah after he was voted as the PFA player of the year following his sparkling form for Liverpool FC this season.
Salah has been one of the Premier League’s top performing players this season since having signed for the Reds from AS Roma in the summer transfer window last year.
The 25-year-old has scored a staggering 40 goals in all competitions for Klopp’s men to help the Reds up into second place in the Premier League table and into the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Salah collected his PFA player of the year prize on Sunday night after being voted as England’s best footballer by his fellow players.
And Klopp was full of praise for the Egypt international after he was confirmed as the PFA player award winner over the weekend.
Speaking to Liverpool FC’s website, Klopp said: “It is really rare in football that you win as an individual, an individual trophy, because it is a team game.
“But in this, the team lives from personalities, from characters, from players and I am really happy that I had the opportunity to be your manager in the last year.
“I think this award, you are voted for from all the other players in all the leagues in England, is an unbelievable honour so you can be really proud and your family can be really proud.
“On behalf of the LFC family, again, congratulations. It was a fantastic ride so far, but you know we have still a few yards to go. With the best wishes for your future here at LFC, [from] your manager.
“And now, please grab the trophy and come home – we play on Tuesday! See you then.”
Salah will be expecting to start and line up against his former club when the Reds host AS Roma in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final clash at Anfield on Tuesday night.
The Reds are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they seek Champions League qualification for next season.
