The Reds are set to take on the Italian side over two legs in the semi-final clash starting next week as they look to set up a final against either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid.
Liverpool FC earned plenty of praise for their performances over two legs as they sealed a 5-1 win over Manchester City in the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite club competition.
AS Roma, meanwhile, were equally impressive as they knocked out FC Barcelona in the last eight to secure their spot in the semis.
And former Chelsea FC boss Ranieri has warned the Reds that they are in for a stern test of their Champions League credentials when they take on AS Roma in the last four.
Speaking in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Ranieri said: “As a manager I never think I can face defeat before I play. [Eusebio] Di Francesco [the current Roma manager] will study Liverpool.
“They are not beaten yet, the Roma side that we admired against Barcelona can make it.
“The Reds are spectacular but away from home they aren’t always solid.”
Salah will return to his former stomping ground having left the Stadio Olimpico for Liverpool in the summer.
Meanwhile, Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Saturday lunchtime.
The Reds were 3-0 winners over Bournemouth last weekend to leave them in third place in the Premier League table as they chase a top-four finish for the second season running.
