Liverpool FC are interested in signing AS Monaco’s wonderkid Christian Koffi, according to a report in England.

French media outlet L’Equipe, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that Jurgen Klopp is plotting a move to sign the 17-year-old from the French club at the end of the 2017-18 season.

The same article reveals that Koffi will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season, which means Liverpool FC could sign the teenager in a cut-price deal from the 2017 Ligue 1 champions.

According to the same story, Koffi has a similar playing style to Liverpool FC’s Senegal international Sadio Mane.

However, The Sun suggest that Liverpool FC’s pursuit of AS Monaco forward Thomas Lemar could come to an end if the Reds do manage to sign Koffi from the Ligue 1 outfit, who would be reluctant to lose both players.

Mane scored in Liverpool FC’s 3-0 win against Premier League leaders Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday night.

The Reds will take on Merseyside rivals Everton at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Saturday before their return trip to Manchester City in the Champions League next Tuesday.
