Paul Ince is backing Manchester City to win the Premier League title on Saturday thanks to a narrow win against Manchester United in Saturday’s derby at the Etihad Stadium.

The Citizens suffered a chastening 3-0 loss to Premier League rivals Liverpool FC in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash at Anfield on Wednesday night.

Manchester City are facing an uphill battle to secure a spot in the semi-finals following their disappointing performance at the Merseyside outfit mid-week.

Pep Guardiola’s side can find some consolation in a potential title success this weekend with Manchester City one victory away from lifting the Premier League trophy.

The Eastlands outfit were 2-1 winners against Manchester United in their derby meeting at Old Trafford back in December courtesy of goals from David Silva and Nicolas Otamendi.

Manchester United have lost at Chelsea FC and Tottenham Hotspur on the road this season, while the Red Devils settled for a goalless draw at Liverpool FC.

Former Manchester United captain Ince is backing Manchester City to secure a 2-1 win over Jose Mourinho’s men at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening.

“It pains me to say it, it really does. But I just can’t see a Man United win here,” Ince told the Daily Express.

“After City’s humiliation in the week, I think they will come out all guns blazing at the Etihad. Especially since they have the added sweetener of securing the league in front of their enemies.”

Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last term but won the Europa League and the League Cup.
