Sadio Mane has warned his Liverpool FC team-mates to expect a stern test of their Champions League credentials when they travel to Manchester City on Tuesday night.

The Reds are preparing for the second leg of their quarter-final tie after having sealed a dominant and impressive 3-0 win over Pep Guardiola’s men in the first leg at Anfield last week.

Mane netted Liverpool FC’s third goal after Mohamed Salah and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had put Jurgen Klopp’s men 2-0 up at Anfield.

Liverpool FC head into the return leg of the tie knowing that scoring one goal at The Etihad will leave Manchester City needing to net five times to book their place in the semi-finals.

However, Mane has warned his team-mates against complacency as they prepare for the crunch showdown against the Citizens at The Etihad on Tuesday night.

Speaking to Liverpool FC’s website, Mane said: “Of course we have a chance.

“It will not be easy for both teams but we’re going to go there and try to do our best and qualify – for the club and for the fans.”

Liverpool FC played out a goalless draw in their Merseyside derby clash against Everton on Saturday lunchtime as Klopp opted to rest a handful of his players.

The Reds are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they seek a top-four finish for the second season running under their German manager.
