The Red Devils head into the game looking to prevent the Citizens from being crowned Premier League champions – Pep Guardiola’s men will clinch the title if they are able to beat Manchester United at The Etihad.
Manchester United have had a full week off to prepare for the game after their victory over Swansea City in the top flight last weekend.
Manchester City, meanwhile, have had to dust themselves down after the disappointment of their 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool FC in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie at Anfield on Wednesday night.
And Red Devils star Lingard seems to be confident that Manchester United have what it takes to prevent the Citizens from clinching the title on Saturday night.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Lingard said: “You have to go into it like any other game because if you let other things come into play it might affect your performance.
“We have performed well there before so I don’t see why we can’t do it again.”
Manchester United are currently in second place in the Premier League table as they look to try and finish as runners-up to Manchester City.
The Red Devils look set to make a significant improvement on their campaign from last season, when they ended up in sixth place in Jose Mourinho’s first term in charge.
