The France international has endured a difficult second season at Old Trafford following his club record £89m move to Manchester United from Serie A giants Juventus in the 2016 summer transfer window.
The Red Devils star scored two goals and made two assists in his opening four Premier League games before Pogba suffered a hamstring problem to keep him sidelined for two months.
Pogba has struggled to exert his dominance in the middle of the park since his return to first-team action to prompt Mourinho to drop Pogba in favour of Scott McTominay.
The 25-year-old was linked with a potential move to La Liga giants Real Madrid following a breakdown in his relationship with Mourinho after he started on the bench for both legs of their Champions League last-16 clash against Sevilla.
However, Pogba answered his critics with two goals in the Manchester derby to help Manchester United overturn a 2-0 deficit and secure a dramatic 3-2 victory over Manchester City at The Etihad.
Former Liverpool FC captain Redknapp challenged Pogba and Mourinho to work in harmony.
“Mourinho’s wars with his own players have to stop,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail. “His public criticism of Pogba over the past few months has not helped the £89m midfielder.
“Now, Mourinho and Pogba need to find a way of working in harmony because they need each other. I do not subscribe to the theory that the Frenchman is a flop.
“On his day, he can be one of the best in the country and he now just needs confidence. Pogba and his team-mates can use this win over City to kick on under Mourinho.”
Manchester United are in second place in the Premier League table.
