Manchester United are a far better team with Paul Pogba in Jose Mourinho’s team, Gary Neville has claimed.

The Red Devils re-signed Pogba in a club record £89m deal from Serie A giants Juventus in the 2016 summer transfer window.

The France star won the EFL Cup and the Europa League with Manchester United last term, scoring against Ajax in the European final.

Pogba has failed to kick on in the current campaign following a string of injury problems and a loss of form under Jose Mourinho.

The Manchester United boss hasn’t been afraid to criticise his record signing for his ineffective performances at Old Trafford.

The French midfielder wasn’t named in Mourinho’s starting XI for their 2-1 aggregate loss to La Liga giants Sevilla last month.

Pogba scored twice in Manchester United’s 3-2 win against Premier League leaders Manchester City in the derby last weekend.

Former Manchester United star Neville believes the Red Devils are a much better unit with Pogba in the team.

“I’ve said all year, Man United are a far better team with Pogba in it. He brings arrogance,” Neville told Sky Sports. “He brings belief.”

Pogba has scored five goals and has made nine assists in 21 appearances in the Premier League this season.

The Red Devils are in second place in the Premier League table in their bid to improve upon their finish last term.
