The France international is facing a battle to break into the Manchester United team after surprisingly falling out of favour.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho hasn’t been afraid to criticise Pogba for his performances in the middle of the park alongside Nemanja Matic.
In fact, Pogba didn’t even start either leg of Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat by La Liga side Sevilla in the Champions League round of 16.
The 25-year-old has scored two goals and has made nine assists in 25 appearances in his stop-start Premier League campaign.
Pogba’s loss of form has resulted in speculation that he could leave for Real Madrid in the summer after a fallout with Mourinho.
However, former Arsenal defender Keown appeared to sympathise with Pogba for what has been a frustrating season for the club record signing.
“I just don’t think he’s 100 per cent fit after struggling with hamstring injuries this season,” Keown told the Daily Mail.
“He doesn’t seem to have that sharpness or that pop in his legs. He can still make long, striding runs once he opens his legs out, but I’ve not seen him have the acceleration or agility players really need to control the midfield.”
Pogba won the Europa League and the League Cup in his first season back at Manchester United after the Red Devils signed the versatile midfielder in an £89m deal from Serie A giants Juventus.
The French star scored in Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Ajax in the Europa League showpiece.
