Jose Mourinho has decided to bench Alexis Sanchez in favour of starting Marcus Rashford for Manchester United’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday, according to a report in England.

The Sun is reporting that Rashford’s performance in Manchester United’s 2-0 win at Bournemouth in the Premier League on Wednesday night has convinced Mourinho that he deserves to start at Wembley.

The England international was named in Mourinho’s starting XI ahead of Sanchez and the 20-year-old impressed despite failing to get on the score sheet.

The same article states that the Manchester United boss is concerned that Sanchez and Paul Pogba are unable to play in the same team together.

The Red Devils boss raved about the France international following their 2-0 win at Bournemouth despite using Pogba sparingly in recent months.

According to the story, Mourinho has been disappointed with Sanchez’s input at Manchester United since his move to Old Trafford in a swap deal from Arsenal in the January transfer window.

The Red Devils are in second place in the Premier League table and 13 points adrift of champions Manchester City.

Mourinho won the Europa League and the League Cup in his first season in charge at Old Trafford.
