Gary Neville has singled out Paul Pogba for special praise after his match-winning performance in Manchester United’s comeback win over Manchester City on Saturday.

The French midfielder has come in for plenty of criticism for his displays for the Red Devils this season and his failure to produce consistent form for Jose Mourinho’s men.

Pogba has even been dropped by Mourinho in recent games due to his stuttering form.

However, the France international was back to his best on Saturday at The Etihad as he scored two crucial second-half goals to inspire Manchester United’s brilliant comeback against Pep Guardiola’s men.

And former Manchester United defender Neville has insisted that he has long been a fan of the France international.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Neville said: “I’ve said all year, Manchester United are a far better team with Paul Pogba in it.

“He brings arrogance, confidence and belief.”

Pogba will be expecting to feature for the Red Devils when they return to Premier League action next Sunday with a home clash against West Bromwich Albion.

Manchester United are currently in second place in the Premier League table as they bid to secure a top-four finish and book their place in the Champions League for next season.

The Red Devils are also aiming to try and win a trophy this season, and will take on Tottenham in the FA Cup semi-finals later this month.
