Manchester United are set to battle with Manchester City for the signature of Jorginho from Napoli this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Star is reporting that both of the Manchester clubs are keen on luring the 26-year-old Italy international to the Premier League as they look to bolster their squads.

The same story says that Manchester City have picked out Jorginho as one of their top targets to replace Yaya Toure, who is set to leave The Etihad this summer.

However, it is also claimed that Pep Guardiola’s team are poised to come up against competition from their bitter local rivals Manchester City in the race to sign Jorginho from Napoli.

According to the same story, Liverpool FC are also “keen” on signing Jorginho, but the Reds would not be able to compete with United and City in terms of transfer fees and wages.

The 26-year-old has been in good form for Napoli so far this season, scoring two goals and making four assists in 29 Serie A games for the Italian side.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are currently preparing for their crunch home clash against Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Red Devils are aiming to win the FA Cup cup and finish second this term.
