The France international has found himself under the spotlight for much of the campaign after seemingly failing to produce consistent performances for Mourinho’s men.
Pogba was the star of the show as Manchester United came from two goals down to secure an impressive 3-2 win over Manchester City in the derby clash earlier this month.
The midfielder netted twice in the second half to help inspire Mourinho’s men to a brilliant comeback win.
Although Mourinho says that he is not expecting Pobga to perform like that every week, he does want the midfielder to be more consistent for his team moving forward.
Mourinho is quoted as saying by Metro: “I told Paul after the City game I don’t expect him to be man of the match every week. I don’t expect him to score two goals every week, either, but I would like him to be consistent to a certain level.
“The challenge he has is to find a degree of stability and not to keep going from good match to so-so match to bad match.
“The best way to achieving that is to aim for stability at training level, during the working week, and from what I have seen in the past two or three weeks I am really happy with him.”
Manchester United are in second place in the Premier League table and still in with a chance of winning the FA Cup this season.
The Red Devils are currently preparing for their FA Cup semi-final clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley next weekend.
Manchester United are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as the summer transfer window gives Mourinho the chance to significantly bolster his squad.
