The Chile international has been settling into life at Old Trafford after having signed for the Red Devils from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
Sanchez has made a mixed start to his career at his new club and has so far struggled to produce consistent performances for Mourinho’s men.
Manchester United are currently in second place in the Premier League table as they bid to try and finish as close to Manchester City as possible.
Mourinho has been satisfied with Sanchez’s performances so far this season but he admits that he is hoping to see more from the Chile international in his first full season at the club next term.
Speaking to Manchester United’s website, Mourinho said: “Hopefully next season will be better, which is what we think is going to happen.
“I’m not a big fan of buying players in the winter market, exactly because of that period of adaptation, especially for attacking players.
“But he’s obviously improving; he’s obviously getting more comfortable to play with the team, and I’m pretty sure that, next season, will be better.”
Manchester United are still aiming to try and win the FA Cup this season and the Red Devils will take on Tottenham in the semi-finals at Wembley next weekend.
The Red Devils are aiming to finish in the top four as they look to book a place in the group stage of the Champions League for next season.
