Jose Mourinho confirms Man United summer transfer plans
Jose Mourinho lays out his plans for the summer transfer window ahead of his third season at Man United
Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Manchester United will not do “anything crazy” in the summer transfer window as he looks to strengthen his squad.
The Red Devils are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as the summer window gives Mourinho the chance to build a team capable of challenging Manchester City’s dominance at the top of the table.
Manchester United are currently in second place in the Premier League table and looking set to finish as runners-up to Pep Guardiola’s men this season.
Mourinho will be aiming to become the first manager to lead Manchester United to the Premier League title since the Red Devils’ final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013.
And the Red Devils manager has lifted the lid on his plans to strengthen his squad in the summer transfer window this year.
Mourinho is quoted as saying by Sky Sports: “We are not going to spend more than we can. We are not going to do anything crazy.
“We are just trying to improve a little bit more. That’s what we are going to try.
“Everybody will try to improve – like we did from last season. Last season we finished sixth and this season we are going to finish, hopefully, second.”
Manchester United are still aiming to try and win a trophy this season and they will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup semi-finals next weekend.
The Red Devils won the Europa League and League Cup in Mourinho’s first season in charge at Old Trafford last term.
