In the build-up to Saturday’s derby showdown, Guardiola claimed that Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola had asked him if he was interested in taking the France midfielder from Manchester United.
And when he was asked whether he was surprised by Guardiola’s claim, Mourinho told the Daily Mirror: “No, I don’t even think about it.
“We know Guardiola and Mino, the relationship is not the best, so it’s normal that sometimes they can come with a little touch on each other.
“But I wasn’t worried about it, I wasn’t upset by it, I didn’t speak with Paul about it and I didn’t call Mino to ask him anything at all.
“I was just focused on the game and I think Paul was the same, because the way he played is only possible when he’s focused on the game.”
Pogba ended up being the star of the show for Manchester United as he scored two second-half goals to help inspire the Red Devils to a dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Manchester City on Saturday evening.
The French midfielder has been struggling to find consistent form for the Red Devils this term but he was certainly back at his best in the second half against the Citizens.
Manchester United will return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon when they host West Brom at Old Trafford as they aim to try and secure second place in the top-flight table in Mourinho’s second season in charge.
Pogba has scored five goals and made nine assists in 21 Premier League games for Manchester United so far this season.
