Thierry Henry described Manchester United’s performance against West Brom during their defeat at Old Trafford on Sunday as “weird”.

The Red Devils struggled to click into gear against the Baggies and ended up slumping to a surprise defeat in front of their home fans after Jay Rodriguez netted the winner in the 73rd minute.

The defeat handed the Premier League title to Manchester City, who now cannot be caught at the top of the table.

Manchester United must now focus on finishing in the top four and trying to win the FA Cup this season, with the Red Devils set to take on Tottenham Hotspur in the semi-finals at Wembley next weekend.

And Arsenal legend Henry admitted that there was something off about Manchester United’s performance against the Baggies from the off on Sunday.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Henry said: “From a Man United point of view, I didn’t see that [the defeat] coming.

“As soon as the game started, something was weird.

“Where Pogba was playing, the atmosphere in the stadium, the team… it looked like West Brom were going to nick it and they did.

“It’s so weird from what we saw a week ago from that team in the second half [against Manchester City] and the desire, energy and commitment they had [then].”

Manchester United will now switch their attentions towards their crunch FA Cup semi-final clash against Tottenham on Saturday evening at Wembley.

The Red Devils are aiming to win a trophy in Jose Mourinho’s second campaign in charge at Old Trafford after they won both the Europa League and League Cup last season.
