Manchester United are interested in signing Real Madrid playmaker Isco, according to a report in Spain

Manchester United have “roared” into contention to sign Real Madrid star Isco, according to a report in Spain.

Spanish media outlet Don Balon, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the Red Devils are interested in signing the Spain international at the end of the 2017-18 Premier League season.

The same article states that Isco is facing an uncertain future at los Blancos following his public criticism of his Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane during the international break.

According to the same story, Premier League leaders Manchester City are also monitoring the playmaker after Isco was touted as a possible long-term replacement for 33-year-old David Silva.

In light of Manchester City’s interest, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is thought to be readying a huge offer to sign Isco from Real Madrid in the 2018 summer transfer window.

Isco has netted 39 goals in 231 appearances in all competitions over the past five seasons at the Spanish giants.

The 25-year-old has won La Liga title, the Copa del Rey trophy and three Champions League crowns during his spell at Real Madrid.

Manchester United signed Chile international Alexis Sanchez in a swap deal from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
