Man United line up summer bid to sign 25-year-old – report
Man United want to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City this summer, say reports
Manchester United are considering making a summer transfer bid to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Red Devils are considering a move to land the Leicester City defender as Jose Mourinho looks for a replacement for Chris Smalling.
According to the same report, Mourinho has been “hugely impressed” by Maguire’s form for the Foxes this season and is keen to bring him to Old Trafford this summer.
The same story says that a move for the 25-year-old could result in Smalling losing his place to Maguire to both club and country.
The article claims that Mourinho has been very impressed by Maguire’s top form this season since his move to the King Power Stadium from Hull City last summer.
The defender has been a regular fixture in the Leicester City team so far this season and has scored two goals and made four assists in 33 Premier League games so far this term.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are currently preparing for their FA Cup semi-final showdown with Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley next weekend as they look to try and end the campaign with a trophy.
Mourinho’s men are second in the Premier League table.
