Midfielder rejects £140,000 a week offer from Man United – report
Marouane Fellaini looks set to leave Man United on a free transfer this summer, say reports
Marouane Fellaini has rejected the offer of a new contract worth £140,000 a week at Manchester United and is set to leave the club this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Star, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Belgium international has seemingly made his mind up to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season despite having apparently held talks with Jose Mourinho three times over the last month.
According to the same report, Fellaini has opted to turn down the offer of a new contract worth as much as £140,000 a week, which is significantly more than his current wages of £80,000 per week.
Fellaini is out of contract in the summer meaning that he can leave the club on a free transfer.
The same report says that Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Monaco, West Ham and Leicester are all interested in signing the midfielder this summer for free.
Because he is available on a free transfer, Fellaini can expect a significant increase in his wages and a significant signing-on fee for leaving Old Trafford this summer.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are aiming to end the season on a high by beating Chelsea FC to win the FA Cup at Wembley next month.
