Man United open talks for first two summer signings – report

Manchester United are keen to sign Samuel Umtiti and Alex Sandro this summer, say reports

Manchester United have opened talks to sign Samuel Umtiti and Alex Sandro this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Times, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Manchester United are out to try and secure the services of FC Barcelona defender Umtiti and Juventus left-back Sandro as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his squad this summer.

According to the same story, Manchester United are willing to spend as much as £100m to sign the pair as Mourinho looks to try and assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.

The same story says that the likes of Matteo Darmian, Luke Shaw and Daley Blind are set to be sold by Manchester United this summer as Mourinho plots an overhaul of his squad.

The report says that Sandro is likely to cost at least £50m this summer, while French defender Umtiti has a £52.5m release clause in his contract at FC Barcelona.

Manchester United are likely to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as Mourinho looks to significantly add to his squad in the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils are currently second in the Premier League table as they look to try and secure a top-four finish for next season.
