Manchester United have earmarked AS Monaco star Djibril Sidibe as a potential replacement for Luke Shaw, according to a report in France.

French media outlet Le 10 Sport, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that Manchester United are keeping tabs on Sidibe.

The same article states that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho believes the 25-year-old French defender is the ideal replacement for Shaw to solve what has been a problem position for the Red Devils.

According to the same story, the Red Devils could look to complete a double swoop to sign both AS Monaco midfielder Fabinho and left-back Sidibe in the summer transfer window.

The France international has scored two goals and has made six assists in 25 appearances in Ligue 1 this season.

Sidibe was a key part of the AS Monaco team that beat Paris Saint-Germain to the Ligue 1 title last season, while the French club reached the Champions League semi-finals before losing to Juventus.

Manchester United signed Shaw in a £27m deal from Southampton in the 2014 summer transfer window under Louis van Gaal.

The England international has struggled at Old Trafford since his leg break in a 2-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven in 2015.

Mourinho has regularly criticised the Manchester United left-back for his performances in training and on the pitch.
