Martin Keown is convinced that Liverpool FC have what it takes to win the Champions League this season.

The Reds earned plenty of praise as they produced two brilliant performances to beat Manchester City 5-1 on aggregate in the quarter-finals and book their place in the last four of Europe’s elite club competition.

Liverpool FC were in particularly good form when they thrashed Pep Guardiola’s men 3-0 at Anfield in the first leg to set them on their way towards victory.

The Reds will now prepare for their semi-final clash as they look to progress to the Champions League final and win the competition for the first time since 2005.

And former Arsenal defender Keown is utterly convinced that the Reds have everything that it needs to go all the way in Europe’s elite club competition.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Keown said: “They’re the top scorers in this season’s Champions League, they’re the only unbeaten team and, for the semi-final, they have the Anfield factor.

“If Klopp continues to control games from the touchline like this, of course they can win.”

Meanwhile, Liverpool FC are preparing to return to Premier League action this weekend when they host Bournemouth at Anfield on Saturday night.

The Reds are currently in third place in the top-flight table as they bid to try and finish in the top four for the second season running under Klopp.

The Merseyside outfit are yet to win their first trophy under Klopp.
