The Gunners have won their last six games in all competitions to alleviate some of the pressure on their manager Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal managed to get past AC Milan in the Europa League round of 16 before a comfortable aggregate win over CSKA Moscow in the quarter-finals.
The north London side are in sixth place in the Premier League table and 13 points adrift of Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspur in the final two top-four spots.
Wenger’s men can still secure a return to the Champions League after a one-season absence if Arsenal manage to win the Europa League this term.
Newcastle, on the other hand, have moved clear of the relegation zone thanks to victories over Manchester United, Huddersfield Town and Southampton.
The Magpies are unbeaten in their last six Premier League games and Newcastle will take on an Arsenal side that have only won three of their 14 away games this term.
Former Liverpool FC striker Owen believes Newcastle will secure a positive result against the Gunners at St James’ Park on Sunday afternoon.
“Arsenal had played and won five successive home games prior to their trip to Moscow on Thursday for the second leg of their quarterfinal Europa League tie,” Owen told BetVictor.
“Newcastle will be well aware that they have lost their last 10 Premier League games against the Gunners but I think they will buck that trend at St James’s Park on Sunday.
“United have won their last three league games while the Gunners have actually lost their last four Premier League games on the road. Yes – they have not played an away league game since their 2-1 defeat at Brighton at the beginning of March!
“Arsenal have only won thirteen of their 54 points so far this season on their travels and if there is to be a winner on Sunday, I expect United will edge it.”
Arsenal have won the FA Cup in three of the past four seasons.
