The Egypt international has been one of European football’s most prolific players this season following his move to Anfield from AS Roma in the summer transfer window last year.
Salah was once again an influential figure as he scored Liverpool FC’s opening goal in their 2-1 win over Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday night at The Etihad.
The 25-year-old has scored a staggering 39 goals in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s side to help them reach the semi-finals of the Champions League and up into third place in the Premier League table.
And former Manchester United defender Ferdinand has admitted that he has been hugely impressed by how Salah has been performing for the Reds this term.
Speaking to BT Sport on Tuesday night, Ferdinand said: “This guy [Salah] has been so clinical this year.
“He’s been a joy to watch and a fantastic addition to the Premier League. He’s sitting people down for fun, it’s beautiful to see.”
Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action on Saturday when they host Bournemouth at Anfield in their next top flight game as they chase a top-four finish.
The Reds, who finished in fourth place in the Premier League last season, will discover their opponents for the semi-finals of the Champions League when the draw takes place on Friday.
