Michael Owen is backing Swansea City to secure a positive result against Chelsea FC at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Blues will make the trip to South Wales to face a Swansea side that are still fighting relegation this season.

The Welsh outfit are in 17th place in the Premier League table and four points ahead of Southampton, who are looking to overhaul the Swans.

Chelsea FC are still in contention to secure a top-four finish as Antonio Conte’s men look to reduce Tottenham Hotspur’s five point advantage in fourth spot.

The west London side have eased to victories over Burnley and Southampton in their last two Premier League games to offer late hope of a top-four place.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen believes Swansea will pick up at least a point against Antonio Conte’s men at the Liberty Stadium.

“Chelsea were much too good for Southampton at Wembley on Sunday and Antonio Conte will be delighted that both his central strikers were among the goals in the FA Cup semi-final,” Owen told BetVictor.

“The Blues have won their last couple of away league games and the Swans might only be a point above the relegation places if the Saints have beaten the Cherries earlier in the day.

“Whatever the result at St Mary’s I think the Swans can take a point.”

Chelsea FC won the Premier League title with two games to spare last season as Conte secured title glory in his first campaign in charge of the west London outfit.

The Blues signed Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, AS Roma defender Emerson Palmieri and Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud in the January transfer window.
