Paul Merson is backing Swansea City to hold Chelsea FC to a 1-1 draw at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Blues will look to secure a third successive Premier League win to continue their belated challenge for a top-four spot.

Chelsea FC are in fifth place in the Premier League table and five points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur in pursuit of a place in the Champions League.

The west London outfit have eased to victories over Southampton and Burnley in their last two Premier League outings.

Antonio Conte’s men booked their place in the FA Cup final thanks to a 2-0 victory over the Saints at Wembley in the last four.

Swansea, on the other hand, are in 17th place in the Premier League table and four points ahead of Southampton in the relegation zone.

The Swans are winless in their last five Premier League games in all competitions to leave the Welsh outfit on the brink.

Former Arsenal star Merson is backing Swansea to secure a point against Chelsea FC at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday evening.

“The Premier League survival battle could all be over at the end of the weekend,” Merson told Sky Sports. “If Swansea beat Chelsea and Stoke and Southampton lose, that’s it.

“This is a tough game for Chelsea, Swansea are decent at home. How Chelsea approach this game depends on Liverpool’s result against Stoke, if they drop points they could be right back in the race for the top four with a win. I’m going to go for a draw but if Liverpool and Stoke draw, it has to be Chelsea.”

Chelsea FC have won the Premier League title in two of the past three seasons under Jose Mourinho and Conte.
