Spurs will welcome the Premier League leaders to the English capital following Manchester City’s disappointing Champions League exit mid-week.
Liverpool FC were 2-1 winners against the Citizens in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final at The Etihad.
The Reds were 5-1 aggregate winners following a 3-0 victory over Manchester City at Anfield earlier this month.
Manchester City have lost their last three games in all competitions after Manchester United were 3-2 winners against Pep Guardiola’s side to deny their derby rivals the title last weekend.
Tottenham haven’t lost a Premier League game at Wembley since a 2-1 loss to defending Premier League champions Chelsea FC in their opening home game of the 2017-18 season.
Former Arsenal star Merson believes Spurs will condemn Manchester City to a fourth successive defeat in all competitions at Wembley on Saturday night.
“I don’t see how City pick themselves up. They look like they are out on their feet and the last place they want to be going is Tottenham,” Merson told Sky Sports.
He added: “They have been great but if they lose this game it has fizzled out a bit and they haven’t shown that real grit too many times this season to turn things around.”
Spurs have beaten Stoke, Chelsea FC, Bournemouth, Huddersfield Town, Crystal Palace and Arsenal in their last six Premier League games.
Tottenham have finished in second and third place in their last two Premier League campaigns.
The north London side can win the FA Cup if Spurs beat Manchester United to set up a final meeting with Chelsea FC or Southampton.
