Mark Lawrenson is backing Tottenham Hotspur to hold Manchester City to a 1-1 draw in the Premier League clash at Wembley on Saturday night.

It has been a disappointing few days for Pep Guardiola’s men after an otherwise immaculate season, with the Citizens having been knocked out of the Champions League by Liverpool FC and also suffering a derby defeat by Manchester United last weekend.

Manchester City will now be aiming to get back to winning ways in the Premier League as they look to try and win the title and end the campaign with a domestic double.

However, Tottenham are pushing for a top-four finish this season and will be ready to do everything in their power to try and claim the three points at Wembley this weekend.

And former Liverpool FC man Lawrenson is backing the two sides to share the spoils at Wembley in the Premier League clash on Saturday night.

Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Lawrenson said: “Tottenham were not having a good spell when they got hammered 4-1 by City earlier in the season, but things are very different now.

“I think City would take a draw after the week they have had. That will delay the title party a little longer, but they are still going to win the league – it is just a matter of time.”

Tottenham will take on Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-finals later this month as they look to end the season with a trophy as well as secure Champions League qualification for next term.
