Michael Owen is backing Liverpool FC to see out a professional win against West Brom at The Hawthorns in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds will make the trip to the Premier League’s basement club West Brom this weekend looking to extend their unbeaten run to five top-flight games.

Liverpool FC can cement their top-four spot with a win against the Baggies after Chelsea FC managed to record successive Premier League victories for the first time since December.

The Merseyside outfit have a 10-point lead over Chelsea ahead of the Blues’ clash against Burnley at Turf Moor on Thursday night.

West Brom were surprise 1-0 winners against Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend after Jay Rodriguez’s second-half goal.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is tipping the Reds to beat West Brom ahead of their Champions League semi-final next week.

“Nothing wrong with West Brom’s spirit and I wonder how many sides have been relegated at the end of a season they have gained wins at both Old Trafford (Premier League) and Anfield (FA Cup),” Owen told BetVictor.

“Liverpool entertain Roma on Tuesday and could be forgiven for having one eye on their Champions League semi-final first leg, but this is a very focussed, motivated Reds side and I expect them to have too much quality for the Baggies.”

Liverpool were 5-1 winners against Premier League champions Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final.

The Reds eased to a 3-0 victory over Manchester City at Anfield before Liverpool FC came from behind to secure a 2-1 win against the title holders.

The 18-time English champions are looking to win the Champions League for the first time since 2005.
