Paul Merson is backing Liverpool FC to beat West Brom at The Hawthorns on Saturday evening.

The Merseyside outfit are in third place in the Premier League table and can move to within a point of Manchester United if Liverpool FC beat West Brom.

The Reds are unbeaten in their last four games in the Premier League to edge closer to successive top-four finishes under Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool FC have scored 10 times in their last four Premier League games following victories over Watford, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth as well as a draw with Everton.

The 18-time English champions are in the Champions League semi-finals ahead of the clash against Serie A giants AS Roma at Anfield next week.

West Brom were 1-0 winners against Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend thanks to Jay Rodriguez’s second-half winner.

The Baggies are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table and nine points adrift of safety.

Former Arsenal star Merson believes Liverpool FC will find a way to get past West Brom at the Hawthorns on Saturday evening.

“A hard game this one – it was a great result for West Brom the other day,” Merson told Sky Sports.

“Liverpool are all-but assured of the top four, and you’ve got to give yourself a chance against Roma. I would be shocked if Liverpool played a strong team against West Brom.

“We saw what happened when Man City played a strong side against Everton, and then they got blown away by Liverpool. Lesson learned – I think Jurgen Klopp has to play a lesser team, which is a shame on Mohamed Salah.”

Liverpool FC haven’t won the Champions League since 2005 when the Reds came from 3-0 down to rescue a 3-3 draw before a penalty shootout win over AC Milan.
