Arsenal and Chelsea FC are among the clubs interested in signing young Hamburg defender Josha Vagnoman this summer, according to reports in the British media.
ESPN is reporting that the Gunners and the Blues are being joined by Everton in the race for the 17-year-old’s signature this summer.
The same story says that the teenager’s impressive progress for Hamburg this season is attracting interest from a host of Europe’s top clubs, including both Arsenal and Chelsea FC.
According to the same report, Arsenal feel that they are well-positioned to be able to complete a deal for the teenage defender given their German connections.
The north London club’s head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is reportedly a keen admirer of Vagnoman and has watched him in action on a number of occasions.
Arsenal are likely to be linked with a number of players in the coming weeks and months as Unai Emery looks to assemble a squad he feels will be capable of breaking back into the top for next season.
The Spaniard was confirmed as Arsenal’s new manager on Wednesday after days of speculation linking him with the north London club’s top job.
Arsenal have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph back in 2003-04.
