Charlie Nicholas is backing Arsenal to ease to a 2-1 win against Burnley at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners endured a disappointing night in Madrid on Thursday following a 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final.

Arsenal travelled to the Spanish capital following a 1-1 draw in the first leg at the Emirates Stadium last week.

Former Chelsea FC striker Diego Costa scored a first-half winner to end Arsenal’s hopes of winning the competition and securing a place in next season’s Champions League.

Arsenal will switch their focus to the Premier League on Sunday afternoon as Arsene Wenger’s side look to end the 2017-18 season on a positive note.

Burnley could move level on points with Arsenal if Sean Dyche’s side manage to beat the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.

While Arsenal have a game in hand on Burnley, the Gunners will face Leicester City and Huddersfield Town on the road in their final two Premier League fixtures.

Wenger’s side have only managed to win three of their 17 away games in the Premier League in the current campaign.

Speaking to Sky Sports about Arsenal’s home clash against Burnley on Sunday, Nicholas tipped the Gunners to ease to a win.

“Just because it’s Arsene Wenger’s last home game, they should have the focus to bounce back after the disappointment of Thursday night,” Nicholas said.

“A few changes will be made with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang coming back in and that freshness should give them enough to get the victory – even if it isn’t the send-off Wenger wanted.”
