The Germany international signed a new long-term contract with the north London outfit back in February.
Ozil reportedly put pen to paper on a £350,000-a-week deal to become one of the best-paid players in the Premier League.
The 29-year-old has struggled to inspire the Gunners to sustained success since his £42.5m move to Arsenal from Real Madrid in August 2013.
The World Cup winner has netted five goals and has made 12 assists in 35 games in all competitions in the current campaign.
Ozil was powerless to prevent Arsenal suffering a 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final on Thursday night.
The Gunners won’t be in the Champions League next season following a disappointing domestic campaign.
Former Irish defender Cunningham slammed Ozil’s contribution to the north London club.
“He epitomizes everything that is wrong with the club in terms of how he is indulged,” Cunningham told Newstalk.
He added: “He is a disgrace in terms of how he carried himself. He isn’t prepared to do any work for the team.”
Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04 when Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira inspired the Gunners to glory.
The Gunners suffered a 3-0 loss to Manchester City in the League Cup final at Wembley back in February.
