Riyad Mahrez wants to sign for Arsenal in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Express is reporting that the Algeria international is keen on a move away from Leicester City this summer despite having publicly withdrawn his transfer request.

Mahrez was subject of interest from Manchester City in recent transfer windows but Leicester City refused to do business with the newly-crowned Premier League champions.

According to the same story, despite Mahrez having withdrawn the request, the 27-year-old still favours a move to Arsenal this summer.

The Gunners are likely to be on the lookout for reinforcements this summer as the club prepare for life without Arsene Wenger.

The north London side are yet to decide who their next manager will be after Wenger confirmed that he will be ending his 22-year reign at The Emirates at the end of the season.

According to the same report, Tottenham and Chelsea FC remain as alternative options for Mahrez should he leave Leicester City this summer.

Arsenal have already signed a number of attacking players in recent transfer windows, with the Gunners having landed Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan over the last 12 months.
