Kaveh Solhekol has claimed that Arsenal will only have around £50m to spend on new signings this summer.

The Gunners are bound to be linked with a host of players this summer as they look to try and build a team capable of challenging for the title next season.

Arsenal are currently preparing for life after Arsene Wenger after the French manager stood down at the end of the season following around 22 years in charge.

It remains to be seen who the north London club will appoint as the club’s new manager, but the Gunners are likely to try and bring in a number of new players this summer.

And reporter Solhekol believes that the Arsenal transfer budget will be relatively small, although they could opt to sell a number of players to make more funds available.

Speaking to the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast, Solhekol said: “The Arsenal budget is just £50m.

“If [Shkodran] Mustafi leaves, that money could be added to the pot. But from Arsenal’s point of view, they’ve spent a lot of money.”

Mikel Arteta is currently believed to be the leading candidate to take over from Wenger at The Emirates.

It is believed that the north London side would like to get their new manager in place before the start of the World Cup in Russia next month.
