Liverpool FC assistant boss Zeljko Buvac could be set to be appointed as Arsenal's new manager, say reports
Liverpool FC assistant boss Zeljko Buvac could be set to be appointed as Arsenal’s new manager, according to reports in Bosnia.
Bosnian outlet Pravda BL, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Liverpool FC number two is a “serious candidate” to take over from Arsene Wenger at The Emirates at the end of the season.
The outlet is the same media agency which broke the news that Klopp was set to take over at Liverpool FC before his appointment back in October 2015.
The reports come after Liverpool FC released a statement confirming that Buvac has left the Anfield club on a temporary basis due to “personal reasons”.
Buvac has been Jurgen Klopp’s long-term assistant and has worked with the German manager for the last 17 years.
Arsenal are on the lookout for a new manager after the Gunners confirmed that Wenger would be standing down at the end of the season after 22 years in charge of the north London club.
Meanwhile, the Gunners are currently preparing for their crunch Europa League semi-final second leg showdown with Atletico Madrid in Spain on Thursday night.
Arsenal were beaten 2-1 by Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday to leave them in sixth place in the table.
