The Gunners are currently on the lookout for their next manager after Arsene Wenger confirmed that he will be stepping down at the end of the season after nearly 22 years in charge.
Former FC Barcelona manager has been touted as a possible candidate to take over from Wenger at Arsenal at the end of the season as the Gunners continue their search for their next manager.
However, Spanish football expert Balague feels that Enrique would not be looking to stay at The Emirates for the long-term, and that could make him better suited to the manager’s job at Chelsea FC.
Balague told Sky Sports: “Luis Enrique would like to take charge at Arsenal but he needs to feel wanted and to know that finances are available for himself and the club to compete.
“That’s because I don’t see him staying for a long time, he’s more of an impact man.
“You could argue he’d be better suited to Chelsea but with both clubs yet to make a decision, he’s waiting to see what happens.”
Arsenal are currently preparing for their home clash against Burnley on Sunday afternoon as they bid to give Wenger a good send-off in the Frenchman’s final home game in charge at The Emirates.
The Gunners have had to come to terms with the disappointment of Arsenal being knocked out of the Europa League at the semi-final stage by Atletico Madrid on Thursday night, meaning that they will have to settle for no Champions League football next season.
