Arsenal are lining up a £50m summer transfer bid to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Emil Forsberg, according to reports in Sweden.

Swedish outlet Expressen, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Gunners are keen on bringing the 26-year-old midfielder to The Emirates this summer.

The same story says that Arsenal will make an official bid to try and sign the Sweden international this summer in the coming days, as Unai Emery searches for his first signing as Gunners boss.

German side RB Leipzig, according to the same story, are hoping to get Forsberg to sign a new deal, despite him only penning fresh terms last year on a contract until 2022.

Forsberg was in good form for the Bundesliga outfit this season, scoring five goals and making four assists in all competitions for Leipzig.

Arsenal are set to be linked with a host of players this summer as new boss Emery looks to assemble a squad capable of breaking back into the top four next season.

The north London side finished sixth this season and have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.

They did win the FA Cup in three of Arsene Wenger’s last four seasons in charge, however.
