Ian Wright has urged Arsenal to sign a goalkeeper and a centre-half in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners have been disappointing in the current campaign following a disastrous season on the road in the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger’s side have lost 10 times in 17 outings to limit their ability to challenge for a top-four finish and a return to the Champions League.

Arsenal are set to finish in sixth place in the table irrespective of their result against Huddersfield Town on the final day of the season.

The north London side are on the hunt for a new manager after Arsene Wenger confirmed that he will stand down at the end of the campaign.

Former Arsenal striker Wright believes Arsenal aren’t a million miles away from challenging for the title but need a couple of key signings.

“Arsenal need to get a good goalkeeper and another centre-half,” Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“They need to bolster the squad a bit and lose a couple. They’re not a million miles away.”

Arsenal lost 3-0 to Premier League champions Manchester City in the League Cup final at Wembley earlier this year.

The Gunners suffered a 2-1 aggregate defeat by La Liga giants Atletico Madrid in the Europa League last four.
