Arsenal have a secret weapon to use in their attempts to sign Nice star Jean-Michael Seri this summer, according to a report in England

Arsenal are hoping to use their connections to see off competition from Liverpool FC and Manchester United in Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri, according to a report.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Gunners are interested in a potential deal to sign the Ivory Coast international at the end of the 2017-18 season.

The same article states that Arsenal hope that their head of football relations Raul Sanllehi who has strong relations with the African midfielder’s agent.

According to the same story, Sanllehi was close to bringing Seri to FC Barcelona last summer when he was still a member of the La Liga outfit’s board.

Seri has been an integral part of the Nice team over the past couple of seasons to attract interest from a number of top European clubs.

The African star has scored two goals and has made five assists in 30 appearances in Ligue 1 this season.

Arsenal finished in sixth place in the Premier League table this season to miss out on a place in the Champions League for the second successive season.

The Gunners haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04 after Arsenal regressed under Arsene Wenger over the past decade or so.

The north London side lost 2-1 to Atletico Madrid in the Europa League last four.
