Insider reveals Arsenal have ‘serious interest’ in 26-year-old Ligue 1 star
Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol confirms Arsenal are interested in a potential deal for Jean Michael Seri
Arsenal are very interested in Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri, according to Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
The Ivory Coast international has established himself as one of the top midfielders in the French top flight during his spell at Nice.
Seri was linked with a move to La Liga giants FC Barcelona last summer but a deal failed to materialise for the versatile midfielder.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs over the past few months, including Arsenal, Liverpool FC and Manchester United.
The Gunners need to sign a powerful midfielder to improve their options in the middle of the park given Granit Xhaka’s poor performances.
Seri has scored two goals and has made five assists in 28 appearances in Ligue 1 this term to produce another impressive campaign.
Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol confirmed that Seri is a target for Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
“The move for Seri is very serious,” Solhekol told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“He is an incredible player. Lots of big clubs are after him. Arsenal are very much in the chase to sign him.”
Arsenal finished in sixth place in the Premier League table to miss out on a Champions League spot for the second successive campaign.
The Gunners lost 3-0 to Premier League champions Manchester City at Wembley in the League Cup final earlier this year.
