Arsenal line up summer transfer move to sign 26-year-old Nice star – report
Arsenal are planning a bid to try and sign Jean-Michael Seri from Nice this summer, according to reports
Arsenal are planning a summer transfer swoop to sign Jean-Michael Seri from Nice, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Gunners have singled out the 26-year-old as one of their top transfer targets this summer as they bid to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League next season.
The same story says that a transfer “overhaul” is expected at The Emirates this summer, with Unai Emery having been appointed as the club’s new manager.
According to the same report, Emery tried to bring Seri to Paris Saint-Germain in January, and he will now try again after his appointment as Arsenal manager.
The article also claims that Seri has a release clause of £35m written into his contract at Nice, and that the player is also attracting interest from the likes of Chelsea FC and Borussia Dortmund.
The same story says that Emery is getting ready to “revamp” the Arsenal squad as he prepares to take over from Arsene Wenger at The Emirates.
Arsenal will be looking to at least break back into the top four next season after their disappointing sixth placed finish in the Premier League this term.
