Reporter Duncan Castles tips Arsenal manager Unai Emery to raid Paris Saint-Germain
Unai Emery will look to raid Paris Saint-Germain for some Arsenal signings, according to Duncan Castles.
The Gunners confirmed that the 46-year-old as their new manager at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Arsenal have reportedly handed Emery a £50m budget to improve the Gunners squad following a disappointing 2017-18 season.
The north London side finished in sixth place in the Premier League table this season to miss out on a Champions League spot.
Arsenal have been unable to finish in the top four in the last two campaigns to prompt Arsene Wenger to leave the Gunners.
Scottish reporter Castles believes Emery will look to raid PSG for some potential summer signings.
“He will look at some players from PSG,” Castles told the Transfer Window podcast.
“It is clear PSG need to sell and move off the wage bill. It may be a problem for Arsenal bringing them in. They are making this appointment with an eye on their budget.”
The Gunners haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04 when the north London side finished the season unbeaten.
Arsenal have won the FA Cup in three of the past five seasons under Wenger to add some silverware to their trophy cabinet.
