Gary Neville admits he isn’t surprised to see Antonio Conte’s time at Chelsea FC coming to an end.
The Italian head coach is widely expected to leave the west London side in the coming weeks after a difficult 2017-18 season.
Conte led Chelsea FC to the Premier League title last season after the Blues finished seven points ahead of Spurs.
However, the Blues ended up in fifth spot and 30 points behind Premier League champions Manchester City in the table.
Chelsea FC did end the season with silverware after a 1-0 win against Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
The Blues manager has clashed with the board over signings during the past 12 months to raise questions about his future.
Former Manchester United defender Neville isn’t surprised that Conte’s spell at the west London side is coming to the end.
“It is a two-year job. We’ve always known that. It’s no surprise,” Neville told his Sky Sports podcast.
Chelsea FC finished the Premier League season with a 3-0 loss to Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
The Blues ended up in fifth place in the Premier League table to miss out on a Champions League spot for the second time in three seasons.
