Cesc Fabregas has challenged Chelsea FC to secure the perfect finish to the 2017-18 season by securing a top-four finish and winning the FA Cup.

The Blues are in fifth place in the Premier League table but can still finish in the top four if results go Chelsea FC’s way on the final day of the season.

The west London side will make the trip to Newcastle United in their final Premier League game of the season at St James’ Park where the Blues will face ex-manager Rafael Benitez.

Chelsea FC can end the season with some silverware if Antonio Conte’s side manage to beat Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley later this month.

The Blues haven’t won the FA Cup since 2012 when Chelsea FC beat their bitter rivals Liverpool FC to win their first trophy under Roberto di Matteo.

Speaking to Chelsea FC’s website about the west London side’s target for the final two games of the season, Fabregas said:

“For me, the perfect end to the season will be finishing in the top four and winning the FA Cup,” Fabregas told Chelsea FC’s website.

“If we win only the FA Cup but don’t finish in the top four, yes, you end up happy but for the future of the club, and for your own future, next season you will not be playing in the Champions League which is what every top professional wants to do and for me that’s the most important thing. If we could do both it would be perfect.”

Fabregas moved to Chelsea FC in a £27m deal from La Liga giants FC Barcelona in the 2014 summer transfer window.

The Spanish star has won two Premier League titles and the League Cup.
