Willian, on the other hand, netted six times and made seven assists in 20 starts and 16 substitute appearances in the Premier League in the current campaign.
Former Arsenal star Merson believes Hazard has been Chelsea FC’s standout player in the current campaign ahead of Willian.
“It’s between Eden Hazard and Willian but I’ll go with Hazard,” Merson told Sky Sports.
Chelsea FC won the Premier League title with two games to spare last season after the Blues finished seven points ahead of Tottenham.
The title holders missed out on a Champions League spot for the third time in two seasons after a 3-0 loss to Newcastle United at St James’ Park last weekend.
