Pat Nevin raves about Chelsea FC star’s performance in FA Cup final
The Chelsea FC legend heaps praise on Eden Hazard for his performance in the FA Cup final last weekend
Pat Nevin believes Chelsea FC forward Eden Hazard was far too hot to handle for the Manchester United defence in the FA Cup final last weekend.
The Blues were 1-0 winners against Jose Mourinho’s side thanks to Hazard’s first-half penalty after Manchester United defender Phil Jones brought down the Belgian inside David De Gea’s area.
The 27-year-old attacker was Chelsea FC’s biggest threat in the FA Cup showpiece and Hazard got his hands on his first FA Cup trophy following six seasons at the west London club.
Hazard has scored 12 goals and has made six assists in 34 games in the Premier League this season, while the former Lille man has netted five times in eight games in cup competitions.
Former Chelsea FC winger Nevin believes Manchester United found it too difficult to keep tabs on Hazard during the FA Cup final at Wembley as Antonio Conte and his players ended the season on a positive note.
“Like everyone else, I hoped Eden Hazard would have one of his productive days and he didn’t let any of us down,” Nevin told Chelsea FC’s website.
“He was far too hot for the United defence to handle each time he managed to wriggle free of the limpet like Ander Herrera.”
Chelsea FC finished in fifth place in the Premier League table and five points adrift of Liverpool FC, who ended up in the final Champions League qualification spot.
The Blues lost 4-1 to Spanish giants FC Barcelona in the Champions League round of 16.
