Pat Nevin admits he finds it hard to begrudge Mohamed Salah his success at Liverpool FC despite being a former Chelsea FC star.

The Egypt international has scored a sensational 32 goals in 37 games in the Premier League this season following his move to Liverpool FC from Chelsea FC in a £39m deal in the 2017 summer transfer window.

Salah was voted the PFA player of the year award following his incredible debut season at the Merseyside outfit to help Liverpool FC secure a top-four finish for the second successive campaign.

The African forward netted his 32nd goal of the campaign in Liverpool FC’s 4-0 win against Brighton and Hove Albion in their final Premier League game of the season.

Chelsea FC lost 3-0 to Newcastle United at St James’ Park last weekend to end their slim hopes of securing a top-four finish.

Former Blues winger Nevin admitted that it is difficult to deny Salah his success given the Egypt international.

“To be fair, and I always try to be, Liverpool and Mo Salah in particular did play some very attractive football on Sunday,” Nevin told Chelsea FC’s website.

“Our old boy Mo is basically impossible to think badly of no matter who he is playing for because of his attitude and his love of the beautiful side of the game.”

Liverpool FC were 7-6 aggregate winners against Serie A giants AS Roma in the Champions League semi-finals.

The Reds will take on current holders Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev later this month.

Liverpool FC finished in fourth spot in the Premier League in the past two seasons.
