N’Golo Kante insisted that Chelsea FC have a top team despite a disappointing 2017-18 season.

The Blues started the current campaign as defending Premier League champions after winning the top-flight crown in their first season under Italian head coach Antonio Conte.

However, the west London side have struggled to maintain their consistency under Conte to fuel speculation surrounding his long-term future in the English capital.

Chelsea FC suffered a 4-1 loss to FC Barcelona in the Champions League round of 16 to limp out of the competition.

The Blues are in fifth place and need to beat Newcastle United but hope Liverpool FC lose to Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield to secure a spot in the Champions League next term.

Chelsea FC can still end the season with silverware if the Blues manage to beat Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley.

Speaking to the club’s website about the Blues team, Kante talked up Chelsea FC ahead of the FA Cup showpiece.

“We have a very good team, a very good team spirit, I have really enjoyed my two seasons with Chelsea and I hope we can win and do the best things in the future,” Kante told Chelsea FC’s website.

Chelsea FC lost 2-1 to Arsenal in the FA Cup final last season to miss out on the domestic double.

Kante won the Premier League title in successive seasons with Leicester City and Chelsea FC in 2016 and 2017.
